Tanzania – Migration Safari

Tanzania

Tanzania is home to Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest mountain, and is one of Africa’s most popular safari destinations. The country also has dozens of beautiful white sandy beaches such as those found in the island of Zanzibar.

Customized Safaris

A custom African safari simply focuses on a combination of a guest's interests or desired destinations, or both.

This is a luxury safari encompassing the ancient wilderness of northern Tanzania – from the river-fed wilds of Manyara to the sweeping grasslands of the Serengeti and, naturally, the great natural wonder that is the Ngorongoro Crater.

We’ll explore the small museum here and then arrive at our camp for lunch. This afternoon we’ll enjoy a game drive in Serengeti National Park. One of the most amazing phenomena to take place here in the Serengeti is the famous wildebeest ( and their attendant predators) follow a 500-mile circuit from the Serengeti to the Mara. The migration is really a perpetual event: from January through March, thousands of calves are born on the Serengeti plains, prompting an increase in predation (by lion, hyena, leopard etc). After April rains, May and June bring the mating season. Summer and Fall find large herds amassed around water sites, with long columns heading back to the Serengeti to start the cycle again. Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, dinner Lodging: Serengeti Serena Lodge, Tanzania.
